Where to Get Ice Cream and Frozen Yogurt in Downtown Boston

I scream, you scream, we all scream for ice scream (and frozen yogurt, too). It's gosh darn hot out there these days, so cool off with some ice cream or frozen yogurt. We are highlighting a few places to get ice cream in Downtown Boston.

The Marliave Cafe (10 Bosworth St.) recently added ice cream to its menu, which is churned in small batches in their very own pastry kitchen. The flavors are constantly changing and have included raspberry cheesecake swirl, salted caramel, vanilla and mint chocolate chip. The ice creams can be enjoyed at the counter or taken to go. They recommend getting the ice cream Affogato -- ice cream topped with a shot of Counter Culture espresso. Marliave Cafe is only open 8 am to 4 pm on weekdays.

Walgreens (24 School St.) has a self-serve low-fat frozen yogurt bar, above. Larges are $4.99, smalls are $3.99 and there are numerous toppings, including jimmies, Oreos, gummy bears, Reese's, S'mores and more.

Café de Boston (75 Federal St.) also has a self-serve frozen yogurt bar that costs .49 cents per ounce. You also have your choice of toppings, including jimmies, fresh fruit, graham crackers, chocolate chops and more.

Another option is Orange Leaf (145 Tremont St.), which is a frozen yogurt company open noon to 10 pm every day of the week.

And if you're looking to dine-in for some ice cream then check out JM Curley's (21 Temple Place) Bedrock Blitz Concrete. This frappe was chosen by Boston Magazine as one of the best frappes in the Greater Boston area. It includes Richardson's vanilla ice cream, Fruity Pebbles marshmallow treats and orange-soda syrup.
