Last Week's Weather Affected Local Businesses; Some Remain Closed

Several Downtown Boston businesses had to close temporarily last week after freezing temperatures caused pipes to burst. Some were able to open after a day or two of repairs, but some remain closed. We'd like you to support these businesses to help them recoup unexpected expenses due to water damage. Check our Twitter and Facebook feeds for updates on their reopenings.

JM Curley (21 Temple Place) and Bogie's Place (inside JM Curley) remained closed since last Tuesday due to an overhead sprinkler that burst open.
The Marliave (10 Bosworth St.) was closed for several meals, but has reopened. Check out their daily 1/2 priced raw bar everyday between 4 to 6 pm and 9 to 10 pm.

Viga (291 Devonshire St.) was closed for one day and was able to reopen. Click here to view its seasonal specials.

Sal's Pizza (150 Tremont St.)
closed last Tuesday and was still closed as of Monday undergoing repairs.

Sir Speedy (1 Milk St.) is closed for an undetermined time due to water damage.

Trephin Salon (25 Temple Place) closed last week and will be closed most of this week due to not having electricity and water damage.

Three Restaurants Worth Eating Their Namesake's Food

If you're going to name your business after a menu item you better make sure that offering is delicious -- and these three places deliver on their namesake being tasty.

Bonapita (49 Franklin St.) -- this Mediterranean fare restaurant gets its name from its delicious freshly made pitas. If you haven't tried them yet, then you should go and buy a bag of them, or get a meal with one of the pitas packed with deliciousness.

Gene's Chinese Flatbread Cafe (86 Bedford St.) -- the flatbread sandwich can be ordered with either beef or pork -- try each one and see what you like better. The hand pulled noodles are also delicious. Also, they only take cash.

Pedro's Tacos (55 Bromfield St.) -- you don't have just one taco to choose from -- you have several scrumptious options. The Famous Fish Taco with battered cod, cabbage, salsa and dressing is famous for a reason, but don't forget to try the other taco options, too.
