New Griffin Museum Exhibit 'Nourish' Debuts September 11th at
Lafayette City Center Passageway

The Griffin Museum of Photography's new exhibit "Nourish" will debut at the Lafayette City Center Passageway on September 11th. "Nourish" is a free exhibition consisting of five photographers' work that is inspired by food as subject matter.

Lynn Karlin, image above, shows the bounty from her Maine farm that depicts a quiet and sculptural life reminiscent of the Dutch masters; Francine Zaslow's work is about unknown foods from different cultures; David Weinberg bridges his fascination with ancient manuscripts and fruits and vegetables; Amy Rindskopf focuses on the aftermath of a meal; and David Lancaster photographs in his kitchen using the day's simple light while preparing an evening meal.

The Lafayette City Center Passageway (2 Avenue De Lafayette) links Macy's with the Hyatt Regency Boston and is open to the public 10 am to 6 pm daily. The exhibition will run through January 3rd. The exhibition is brought to the public courtesy of the Lafayette City Center, the BID and the Griffin Museum of Photography.

Impact Advisory Group for Proposed Development at 171 Tremont St. on
September 9th

The Boston Redevelopment Authority is hosting an Impact Advisory Group meeting on Wednesday, September 9th from 6:30 to 8 pm. This meeting is open to the public and being held at City Hall, 9th Floor, BRA Board Room

The proposed project is to replace an existing building with a new boutique luxury residential condominium building. Contact Lance Campbell of the BRA with questions at 617-918-4311 or [email protected]

Please note that the purpose of this meeting is different than that of a traditional community meeting. As part of the development review process, the Impact Advisory Group (IAG) members work closely with BRA staff to identify the impacts of a project and recommend appropriate community benefits to offset those impacts. IAG meetings prioritize discussion between the project proponent (i.e. the developer) and IAG members. If time remains at the end of the meeting, BRA staff will open the floor to other community members in attendance. Although anyone is welcome to attend IAG meetings and listen to the discussion, traditional community meetings, which occur after the IAG has met, are the more appropriate forum for the broader public to provide feedback about a project.
