Hire a Boston Teenager Through Mayor's Summer Jobs Program

Every summer, the City of Boston and the Boston Private Industry Council (PIC) organize employers to participate in the Mayor's Summer Jobs Program. More than 3,000
Boston Public School students are hired each summer by more than 300 Boston businesses. To hire a student or learn more about summer jobs, please click here. The chart below shows how much it costs to hire a student.

Most jobs start on the first Monday after July 4th, though graduating seniors are available earlier. Most programs end in the last full week of August. Many students are also available and willing to continue working on a part-time basis into the school year.

The PIC can help you coordinate interviews so you can select the student who best meets your needs. If you choose not to interview, the PIC can identify students for you based on your hiring criteria. PIC Career Specialists work closely with students prior to the summer to prepare them to join your workplace through a series of job readiness workshops and career exploration programs. A dedicated PIC Employer Account Manager is available throughout the summer and school year to answer your questions and solve problems, ensuring a productive and beneficial summer experience.

Please contact Josh Bruno, School-to-Career and Employer Engagement Director, at 617-488-1327 or [email protected] for more info.
