Boston Brewin' Coffee Opens Location at
City Hall

Boston Brewin' Coffee opened its third location in a very noticeable spot - at the Government Center entrance of City Hall. On January 5th, Mayor Martin Walsh cut the ribbon at Boston Brewin' Coffee's coffee cart, and cups of organic joe quickly flowed.

"By sharing our business model, we provide the opportunity for people to be real Bostonians and support their own community through coffee," said Tom Barnes, co-founder of Boston Brewin' Coffee Company. The coffee company prides itself on providing livable wages to all their employees, and supporting the community through providing 100% of its proceeds to non-profits.

The next four months is a trial period for the coffee cart, which is made from discarded school desks. Boston Brewin' is also selling pastries from local bakeries: the Haley House, Lyndell's Bakery, and C and C Bakers of East Boston. Daniel Cordon and Barnes created the coffee company in 2011 with their first location at 45 Bromfield St., and their second location in East Boston.

The new venture is part of an effort by the Walsh administration to utilize public spaces inside and outside of City Hall. The coffee cart will be open to anyone Monday through Friday from 8:30 am to 4 pm.
