Learn about the history of Boston pubs, the story of Battle Road Brewing, or enjoy a tavern game with a Revolutionary Era character at the Old State House on Wednesday, August 27th.

Welcome to Downtown Crossing! 
Havas Media and Arnold Move Into Iconic  Burnham Building 

Employees of Havas Media and Arnold were welcomed to their new office by greeters cheering and clapping as two bands played while they entered the Burnham Building on Monday morning. 

Teams from six agencies will be working side-by-side throughout four floors of the newly-restored building that was home to Filene's

"On a scale of one to 10, this is a 12!" said Adam Chartoff, of Havas, while happily cheering on coworkers from 10 Summer Street. "It's awesome. It's a boost to the area. It's a new office. A new setting. A new style."

Recap: BID Members Meeting Provides Progress on Downtown Initiatives 

The BID's annual Members Meeting was a stylish success at the newly-renovated Lafayette City Center lobby on August 20th.

Above left to right: Jeff Flanagan of the Markley Group, and BID Board of Directors member David Epstein of The Abbey Group, which owns the Lafayette City Center. 

Highlights of the meeting started with BID President Rosemarie Sansone providing a progress report for the past year. Following Sansone, Millennium Partners' Joe Larkin spoke about the Burnham Building's restoration and opening.

BID Planner Anita Lauricella updated the audience on capital improvements including a wayfinding system, and the BID's landscape beautification program. Steve Brookes, BID Clean & Hospitality Operations Manager, spoke about the work of the BID's ambassador helping visitors, their masonry work, and keeping the streets clean.  

Audience members were also provided updates about September 21st's Boston Cup Classic Car Show, and ongoing planning for the "holiday magic" lighting and decorations program.

Last Berklee Performance Series for This Summer on Tuesday and Thursday 

This week's Berklee Performance Series, featuring students from the Berklee College of Music, is the last two for this season. The series has run since May on Tuesdays and Thursdays and has been a perfect way for people to spend their lunch breaks. 

Performances are at 100 Summer St. (adjacent to Long's Jewelers), from noon to 2 pm. Red Velvet, pictured above, is scheduled to perform on August 26th and 28th. Red Velvet is an acoustic duo of Jordan Lipsey and Neal Rosenthal, who met on their first day of school at Berklee College of Music in 2011. They quickly became friends due to the subconscious, natural draw of redheads to one another. Red Velvet's music draws on proud Southern roots, Northeastern tenacity, and fiery hair all around. Click here for a full schedule of performers.    
Free Fun & Entertainment at Boston Calling Block Party Every Thursday 

The Boston Calling Block Party is a fun and free event after work on Thursdays at Dewey Square

Held every Thursday through the end of September, the 21+ event is free to attend, and drinks are $4. Every week there is live entertainment, either a band or a DJ. Meet up with friends for a drink, or try playing lawn games, like corn hole, seen above. The Boston Calling Block Party at Dewey Square (across from South Station) is open from 5 to 8 pm
