MAPC Celebrates 50th Anniversary

BID member Metropolitan Area Planning Council (MAPC), based at 60 Temple Place, continues its 50th anniversary commemoration this Wednesday, October 30th, at 3 pm, with a celebration at the Seaport World Trade Center (200 Seaport Blvd.). 



The event kicks off with a panel discussion on managing the next 50 years of growth and change in metro Boston, followed by a reception. Please visit here to RSVP.

Preview Of Coming Attractions: Free Luncheon At 100 Summer Street Plaza

The Downtown Boston BID, in partnership with Equity Office Properties and Sat� Asian Grill, is pleased to host "Celebrate Summer Street Social." The FREE three-course luncheon buffet previews a series of events planned for next summer on 100 Summer Street Plaza. Along with delicious Asian-themed fare, the event is accompanied by live jazz entertainment.

Halloween In Downtown: Kid-Friendly "Boo Bash" Outside Walgreens

Halloween is nearly here, and the Downtown Boston BID is ready to celebrate! Head to Readers Park at School & Washington St. (outside the Walgreens emporium) for a kid-friendly "Boo Bash" this Wednesday, October 30th, from 11 am-2 pm.


The festivities include:
  • a ring toss with candy prizes awarded,
  • a pumpkin toss, also with prizes,
  • "ghost eating" (big marshmallow s'mores),
  •  arts & crafts, balloon animal-making, and more!

Halloween In Downtown: Salvatore's Dresses Up As "Casa Salvatore"

Salvatore's (545 Washington St.) is getting into the Halloween spirit with an unusual kind of costume--one for the entire restaurant!

Guy Fawkes Pub Night At OSH

Remember, remember the 5th of November! Although the event is no longer the major festival it was in colonial-era Boston, join the Old State House in celebrating Guy Fawkes Day with the historic museum's annual Guy Fawkes Pub Night.

"Waiting For Godot" Arrives At Paramount Center

The waiting is over for one of the greatest dramas of Western theater: "Waiting For Godot," Samuel Beckett's 1953 masterpiece, opens this Thursday, October 31st, at the Paramount Center, for a ten-night run.



Staged by Ireland's Gare St. Lazare Players, the production brings a "homegrown" feel to the work of the Irish-born Beckett. Please visit here for tickets and more info.
