Historic Day For Downtown: Burnham/ Millennium Tower Groundbreaking

Graced by a sea of confetti and the unfurling of
a pair of multi-story banners, the City of Boston
and Millennium Partners recently marked the restoration of the Burnham Building and the
start of construction on Millennium Tower

null

The event, held last Tuesday, started with a video celebrating the history of the Burnham Building and the former Filene's site. Mayor Thomas M. Menino, Millennium Partners founding partner Chris Jefferies, Millennium Partners-Boston principal Anthony Pangaro, Arnold Worldwide president Pam Hamlin, and Roche Bros. chief operating officer Ed Roche then gave remarks.

Arnold Worldwide is set to occupy the fully-restored Burnham Building when it opens in September 2014, with a Roche Bros. supermarket set to follow. Construction has begun on the 625', 450-unit, mixed-use Millennium Tower, which will include 95,000 sq.-ft. of retail.

The BID congratulates all involved with this historic ongoing transformation of downtown!
