"Turmoil & Transition In Boston": Book Launch Party At 100 Summer St.
Nixon Peabody partner Lawrence S. DiCara, former president of the Boston City Council, is pleased to invite our readers to a book launch party to celebrate his new memoir, " Turmoil & Transition in Boston." The youngest person ever elected to Boston City Council, DiCara has been an eyewitness to the most dramatic events in Boston's recent history, including the busing crisis of the 1970s.

NAIOP Forum Discusses "The Changing Face Of Downtown Boston" Thursday
This Thursday, September 12th, from 7-9 am, NAIOP Massachusetts will host "The Changing Face Of Downtown Boston" at the Westin Waterfront Boston (425 Summer St.).
As downtown continues to evolve into a 24/7 neighborhood, a panel of local property owners, landlords, and brokers will discuss emerging and ongoing trends in downtown development and business.

Old State House Offering Free Admission To Kids Through End-Of-Year
A $50,000 donation from John Hancock Financial to Old State House is inviting local schoolchildren and their parents to get a dose of local history as the school year begins. Now through the end of the year, children attending the Old State House museum with their parents will receive free admission!
A portion of the gift will also go toward restoring Old State House's historic Council Chamber, where the colonial-era British government conducted business. The restored Chamber will be unveiled this November, as part of Old State House's ongoing 300th anniversary celebration. Call 617-720-1713 for more info.
