Boston Cup Classic Car Show Seeking Volunteers

Attention vintage-car enthusiasts: the 2nd Annual Boston Cup Classic Car Show, which will return to the Boston Common on Sunday, September 22nd, from 9 am-2 pm, is seeking volunteers to help showcase the event's dozens of fabulous vehicles.

Welcome Back: Students Return To Downtown Campuses

Although summer is on the wane, downtown is
once again being reinvigorated by the annual return of students to the Suffolk University and Emerson College campuses.

Emerson College Move In  

New students move in to both schools today and tomorrow (August 26th-27th), while returning students move in to both schools over Labor Day Weekend (September 1st-2nd).

The primary downtown residence halls are the Paramount Center and Piano Row buildings for Emerson College, and the Modern Theatre, 10 West St., and 150 Tremont St. for Suffolk University. Welcome back to all students!
Shop For A Cause: Macy's Fashion Show Delights  

This past Friday, the Downtown Boston BID and the downtown Macy's partnered to host a fun and entertaining fashion show, part of the lead-in to last Saturday's 8th Annual Macy's "Shop For A Cause" charity fundraiser.

Salvatore's Lands On "Chef Wanted": Viewing Party Thursday

Takes Shape


Origen Property Management principals Jim Robertson, Mike Fallman, and Jay Hajj have made considerable progress on their redevelopment of the space above the former Locke-Ober restaurant.

Workers are converting the upper-level floors into six condo units ranging in size from 2,000-3,300 sq. ft. New At Old South: Restoration Project, Website

It's exciting times at historic Old South Meeting House: the museum--which recently unveiled a sleek new website--has also embarked on an ambitious, multi-month restoration project.

OSMH Steeple

The $800,000 restoration, which will preserve and protect the nearly 300-year-old historic site's windows, exterior woodwork, and steeple, is scheduled to finish sometime this fall. The museum will remain fully open for visitors throughout the project, with the nationwide (and summer-long) military discount in effect through next Monday, September 2nd (Labor Day). LCC Lobby Renovation Continues

The Abbey Group's $5 million Lafayette City Center (LCC) lobby redesign is now well underway.

Slated to finish this fall, the sleek new lobby and entryway will include new marble walls, terrazzo flooring, lounge seating, a modern glass staircase, and a new security desk. The lobby space--an important passageway not only for LCC tenants but also people accessing the Hyatt Regency Boston, the Hyatt Regency Boston Parking Garage, and Macy's--remains open for pedestrian use.
