NECHV Renovation: Public Meeting
At BRA This Wednesday

The New England Center For Homeless Veterans (NECHV) has submitted a proposal to the BRA to renovate and expand its facilities at 17 Court St.

The proposal calls for a 4,800 sq.-ft. extension of the mezzanine level, upgraded utilities, a new roof deck, and 35 new beds. Please visit here for more info. Kingston-Bedford Traffic Island Construction Begins This Week 

The Downtown Boston BID, in partnership with the BRA and BTD, is pleased to announce the reconstruction on the traffic island at the intersection of Kingston & Bedford Streets.

Hollywood Returns To Downtown
To Film "The Equalizer"


Downtown continues to draw Hollywood to the East Coast! Filming of "The Equalizer" will begin in mid-August in several downtown locations: at Winter Place on August 14th-15th (5 am-11 pm daily) and at the West Street/Mason Place intersection on August 28th (5 pm-5 am).

Downtown's "Tech Mecca" Status Powers Up 

As downtown tech start-ups such as Bolt (located
at 110 Chauncy St.) continue to make headlines, another tech start-up to a macro approach to the industry's remarkable expansion in downtown.
Mobile backend powerhouse
 Kinvey, which recently relocated to 99 Summer St., has created a map of downtown's many new tech firms.

Of the 75 firms listed, more than a dozen are in Downtown Crossing. Check back often for more updates as downtown continues to start-up!
Kensington Opens Mid-August

Building management at The Kensington (659 Washington St.) has announced that the first 12 floors are opening to tenants on Thursday, August 15th.

The building, which went under construction in October 2011, is on-track to be finished soon after the preliminary mid-August occupancy; visit here to schedule a tour. Congratulations to Kensington Investment Co., National Development, and Suffolk Construction for bringing their on-time development!

"Girls Night Out" At GEM This Thursday

GEM is having a "Girls Night Out" this Thursday, August 1st!

From 6:30-8:30 pm, the late-night hotspot will feature luxurious amenities such as a champagne reception, gourmet candy bars, cocktail-infused cupcakes from Cakeology, a jewelry/clothing showcase, manicure, spray tan, and massage demonstrations, and a raffle hosted by Bobbles & Lace. Suit Drive At Men's Wearhouse
Through This Wednesday

For the 6th year in a row, Men's Wearhouse (32 Summer St.) is running its National Suit Drive
