Fashion & Exercise Show Heats Up Downtown

Summer Street Plaza was the place to be last Thursday, as Macy's and CBRE-Grossman teamed
up to host a fabulous Pop-Up Fashion Show Event.

A half-dozen volunteers from the BRA and CBT Architects strutted their stuff on the runway, outfitted by Macy's personal shopper Donna Johanson in the summer's hottest trends. Complimentary appetizers were made available by Walgreens and SIP.

The fashion show was followed by a lively exercise dance class hosted by Macy's and Equinox (below).

Thanks to Andrea Matteson at CBRE-Grossman, Donna Johanson, Macy's, Walgreens, SIP, the BRA, CBT Architects, and everyone else who helped transform Summer Street into a fashion runway!  
Father's Day In Downtown

Father's Day is this Sunday, June 16th, and downtown hotels are celebrating with special events
to honor fathers and father figures everywhere.

Here is what's happening: 
  • The Ritz-Carlton Boston Common is offering a "Shake It Up With Dad" package, which includes deluxe lodgings, free passes to the Sports Club/LA-Boston, and a complimentary sterling silver "Tell Me How" cocktail shaker from Asprey, the hotel's new boutique. Call 617-574-7100 for more info.  
  • The Hyatt Regency Boston is hosting a "Father's Day Beer and BBQ" on the Avenue One Terrace. Menu highlights include a made-to-order omelet station, BBQ station, and two free beers for adults. Free for children under age 12. Call 617-912-1234 for more info.

Legal Crossing Coming To Downtown

Downtown Crossing's thriving restaurant introduces another known face to the Theater District this fall. Legendary Legal Seafoods owner Roger Berkowitz (below) has announced plans for a "Legal Crossing" restaurant at Millennium Place this fall.

The 5,600-sq.-ft., 150-seat restaurant will be overseen
by Legal Seafoods' Executive Chef Rich Vellante and designed by Atlanta-based The Johnson Studio. Legal Crossing is slated to open for daily lunch and dinner in fall 2013, when Millennium Place opens for residents. 
59 Temple Place Hotel Update

The name of the hotel being developed at 59 Temple Place has been revealed: the Godfrey.

The developer, Oxford Capital Group, is currently wrapping up a Godfrey hotel project in Chicago. Set to open in 2014, the Downtown Crossing Godfrey will include 243 units and ground-floor retail. Visit here for a complete listing of downtown development projects.

The Hyatt Regency Goes "Over The Edge" Again

The third-annual Special Olympics Massachusetts "Over The Edge" fundraiser at the Hyatt Regency is a month away!

Downtown's new Cheeseboy continues its opening celebration tomorrow, June 11th, with an all-day fundraiser for the SeriousFun Children's Network.
