Downtown Development UpdateAvalon Bay cleared the 45 Stuart St. lot last week in preparation for development of the site. The firm is set to launch construction on its 29-story, 404-unit residential tower (below), located one block south of the Downtown Boston BID district, next month. With contstruction pending at 45 Stuart St., there are now 2,000 residential units under development inside or within one block of the BID: - Hayden Building: 4 units, leasing for March;
- 8 Winter St.: 40 units, leasing for March;
- 411 Washington St.: 14 units, opening in November;
- The Kensington: 381 units, opening in fall;
- Millennium Place: 256 units, opening in fall;
- 120 Kingston St.: 240 units, completing summer 2014;
- Millennium Tower: 600 units, groundbreaking this spring.

King's Chapel Elects 16th Minister
The King's Chapel congregation has selected Joy Fallon to be the 327-year-old church's next minister. Fallon had previously served at the Hancock United Church of Christ in Lexington. She is the 16th minister to be elected to the pulpit at King's Chapel. Congratulations to King's Chapel and Rev. Fallon! |

According to store owner and club founder Peter Femino, the cycling club is a "social riding team that wants to help others become stronger cyclists." Paramount Center Undergoes A "Metamorphosis" Gregor Samsa awoke one morning from uneasy dreams to find he had been transformed into a gigantic insect ... Franz Kafka's "Metamorphosis" takes the stage at the Paramount Center Wednesday, February 27th, for a five-night run. One of the most iconic works of 20th-century Western literature, the novel has been adapted for the stage by the Vesturport Theatre & Lyric Hammersmith Theatre. The show features incredible aerial choreography along with a haunting original score by Nick Cave of the Bad Seeds. School Vacation Week Activities
While school is out this week, stop by Downtown's two historic museums for their variety of kid-friendly activities.
This year, Old South Meeting House focuses on Ben Franklin, who was born just a few yards down the hill, on Milk Street. There are daily activities celebrating his historic and legendary career as a scientist, inventor, journalist, and politician; call 617-482-6439 for more info.
Old State House will be visited by historical reenactors portraying John Rowe and Betsy Cummings. Rowe was a major merchant--Rowes Wharf is named after him--while Cummings owned a shop near Old State House.
