"BIDs Making A Difference": BSA Event At Webster Bank

Downtown Boston BID President Rosemarie Sansone will join Paul Levy, CEO of Center City Philadelphia, and Frank LaTorre, President of the Providence Downtown Improvement District, for the lecture "Downtown Business Improvement Districts Making A Difference." The lecture will take place Thursday, February 21st, at 6:30 pm, at Webster Bank (100 Franklin St.).

"Mix It Up Mondays" Coming In February

To encourage people to explore new hotspots as
well as old favorites, the Downtown Boston BID is pleased to announce the launch, in partnership with Boston Magazine, of "Mix It Up Mondays."


Mix It Up Mondays

For six weeks beginning on Monday, February 4th, over a dozen of downtown's hottest nightspots
(visit here for the full list) will be mixing it up with exclusive dishes, or reduced-price favorites to be paired with a Belvedere vodka cocktail.

The promotion will conclude in April with a special event for dedicated Mix It Up patrons, participating restaurants, and industry professionals (details to follow in upcoming issues). See you Monday nights!
Thinking Cup Nominated As Top East Coast Coffee Shop

Thinking Cup Coffee (165 Tremont St.) has been nominated by Coffee Fest, an industry trade group, as one of the top 14 coffee houses on the East Coast.

Thinking Cup will be competing at the inaugural "America's Best Coffeehouse, Eastern Region" contest, to be held in New York from March 8th-10th. Cast a vote for Thinking Cup (the winners are determined partly through social media), check out the other competitors, and learn more about this exciting challenge. Good luck, Thinking Cup!

Walgreens Update

The tempo of development at the Walgreens "Emporium" (10-24 School St.) has accelerated, with the clock at the corner of School & Province having been taken in for restoration by the Electric Time Co. of Medfield.

Walgreens representatives recently hosted a welcome session inside the 25,000-sq. ft. space, an upscale pharmacy which will feature gourmet food, a liquor & wine shop, and more. The Walgreens is on-track to open in April.

Trunk Show At Cohen's Fashion Optical

Cohen's Fashion Optical (328 Washington St.) will highlight its collaboration with global fashion phenomenon Marc Jacobs with a special trunk show on Thursday, January 24th, from 4-6 pm, featuring Jacobs' hottest eyewear.

Racing To New Heights At
One Boston Place

One Boston Place New On Saturday, February 2nd, starting at 9 am, One Boston Place will host an incredible display of athletic fitness: "Race Up One Boston Place."

Hundreds of firefighters from all over New England will sprint all
the way to the top of the 41-story, 600-foot-skyscraper to raise money for lung disease research. Non-firefighters are encouraged to join, as well! (You don't have to race to the top--walking is fine.) Call 781-314-9005 for more info. 
Nuns Kick Up Their Heels At
Boston Opera House

Inspired by the smash hit movie, the Broadway production of "Sister Act" opens at the Boston Opera House today.

Artists Crossing Now Open At
50 Franklin St.


Artists Crossing, the downtown gallery/artists co-op, has now reopened at 50 Franklin St., at the corner of Franklin & Hawley Streets, following its move from 505 Washington St.
