The phrase "Dog Days of Summer" originates from ancient Roman times and refers to the sultry summer days during the months of July and August. The Romans referred to the dog days as dias canicula ras and associated the hot weather with the star Sirius. They considered Sirius to be the "Dog Star" because it is the brightest star in the constellation Canis Major (Large Dog). It is also the brightest star in the night sky. read more

MURPHY: Another 'HAPPY ENDING' !
|
MURPHY was adopted from our shelter on JANUARY 16, 2014. Here are some emails
from his new 'Dad', MIKE.
JAN 21: Murphy has been awesome. He's especially good at home. He seems to be completely house trained. He's really happy about sleeping in his crate next to my bed every night. I've been taking him on long hikes all weekend, so he's pooped by 6:00--sleeps through the night with no problems. The only issues are occasional snapping at other dogs and jumping up on people. He seems like such a great dog so far, he just needs some training and attention, which I'm happy to provide. Thanks for hooking me up with him.
JAN 25:
It's been over a week now, and I'm sure Murphy will be with me all his life. He's such a good boy. I seriously can't understand how he's had three owners before me. He's the best! He has already learned how to walk politely on his leash, with help from the no-pull harness I bought for him. He doesn't beg for food when I'm eating. He always wants to be close to me. I totally love him. Thanks again!
MAR 21: You probably don't have time or interest in this, but I felt compelled to send you an update on Murphy. He's great! He's now following me around off-leash between the car and house every time. He knows his role, and is very mentally balanced, super cool with everyone. He's a happy guy. I still can't believe he had three people before me--makes no sense. Thanks again for hooking us up together!
Go, MURPHY and MIKE!
