The Super Lawyers of Taylor, Warren, & Weidner, P.A.
With all the hype surrounding the newest version of the Superman™ franchise that flies into movie theaters across the country this weekend, you may have missed the press about a few other "super" people. A recent publication has recognized those who are "super" in the legal field.
Super Lawyers® Magazine recently published its annual list of the top lawyers in Florida. Of the more than 96,000 attorneys who are licensed to practice law in Florida, less than 5% receive this prestigious award. It is reserved for the most capable attorneys throughout the state in over 70 specialties of law. The rigorous process used to identify the award recipients may help you to understand why the award is so coveted in the legal community.
The law firm of Taylor, Warren, & Weidner, P.A. is proud to announce that every single attorney in our firm has been recognized as a Florida Super Lawyer® for 2013. Stephanie Taylor was named a Super Lawyer® for insurance coverage. Both Phillip Warren and Keith Weidner were recognized as Florida Rising Stars by Super Lawyers magazine for their work in the area of Personal Injury. Blythe Glemming was named a Florida Rising Star in the area of Social Security Disability.
To be named a Super Lawyer®, a lawyer typically must first be nominated by a peer. Attorneys are invited to nominate the best attorneys that they have personally observed. Several safeguards are in place to ensure that there is no gaming of the system, and to ensure that the largest law firms are not overrepresented. In addition to the peer nomination process, a research board also identifies attorneys from the state who have received special awards and designations so that they can be included.
In the next step in the selection process, all of the nominated attorneys are evaluated on 12 criteria that include but are not limited to: verdicts and settlements, transactions, representative clients, experience, honors and awards, special licenses and certifications, pro bono and community service among others. After that step, the remaining attorneys are then grouped by primary practice area where a "blue ribbon panel" of the best attorneys in that practice area is asked to further evaluate their peers.
The final step in the selection process involves separating the attorneys into 4 groups based on the size of the firm where they are employed. In this manner, attorneys are compared to other attorneys in similarly sized firms. As mentioned above, the outcome of this rigorous process results in the recognition of the top 5% of licensed attorneys in the state of Florida. It represents who lawyers esteem as the best lawyers.
Taylor, Warren, & Weidner, P.A. is proud of each of their lawyers and their support staff that made the 2013 Super Lawyer® honor possible. While no one in the office wears a red cape or has x-ray vision, you can rest assured that the legal representation you receive will continue to exemplify excellence.

Q. How often do property fires occur? A. In 2011, the last year for which complete statistics are available, the National Fire Prevention Association (NFPA) reported that there were 1,389,500 fires in the U.S. That means that fire departments around the U.S. responded to a fire once every 23 seconds on average.
Q. How much property damage do fires cause? A. Fires caused an estimated $11.7 billion in property damage in 2011.
Q. How can I prevent fires in my home?
A. *Check fire detectors. Those circular things on the ceiling are not just for decoration. Take a few minutes on a regular basis to ensure that your fire detectors function properly. Change the batteries if necessary.
*Don't Overload Circuits. Electrical wires and circuits that are overloaded can overheat and cause fires. Make sure that all appliances are in good working order.
*Make sure all matches and flammable objects are placed in a safe location. Children playing with matches are one of the leading causes of home fires. Make sure that all flammable objects are placed in a secure location.
Q. What should I do if a fire does occur? A. To protect you financially in case a fire does occur, make sure that your homeowner's insurance policy covers you against fire damage. If you do have a fire, make sure to file your claim promptly.
While most property insurance companies will honor the terms of the policy, some do not. If you have any problems with property insurance companies failing to honor your legitimate fire damage claims, please contact the legal professionals at Taylor, Warren, & Weidner, P.A. for a free consultation.
