   Stress tips

Stress is an inevitable part of life. Good or bad, we can all expect varying levels of stress throughout our lives. Our reaction to the stress is what counts and learning to manage stress in healthy ways is key to leading a healthy lifestyle. Remember these three steps to help keep stress in check:

  1. Identify the source(s) of your stress
  2. Change the situation
  3. Change your reaction

BONE AND JOINT HEALTHOrthopedics

Hobbies like gardening, golf, and swimming can help you feel great.  Daily activity releases endorphins and can help improve joint pain and stiffness (and help manage stress!).

Don't let arthritis pain keep you from doing the things you love.  Get started with an exercise plan that is fun and fundamental to your well-being.  Here are a few tips to get you moving:

  • Start slowly: ease your joints into exercise
  • Move gently: tai chi, walking, or swimming, are good choices
  • Ice afterward: if you're feeling pain post-workout, ice your joints

Before you start any exercise program, talk with your doctor.  Need a primary care doctor? Visit www.findyourdoctorright.com.
