Dear Lopez Alums:
I hope you had a wonderful and blessed Thanksgiving holiday. As I reflect on the many blessings that have been bestowed upon me this year, I cannot help but be thankful for the place that helped shape me into the young woman I am today-our alma mater, Father Lopez Catholic High School.
When I step onto this beautiful campus every day, my heart and mind are filled with special memories from the time I spent here at Father Lopez. For instance, English class with Mr. Miller; winning the State Championship in 2005 with Coach Brad; special retreat days; and, graduating with peers who would become lifelong friends. I am incredibly lucky to have been given the opportunity to experience the Father Lopez community and would not change a single part of my high school experience. I could not be more thankful to have been molded by a community that allowed me to learn, grow, be myself, and succeed in a Christian environment.
It has been three years since I changed my role in the Father Lopez community from student to teacher. In this short time, I have seen many amazing things happening on campus that make me proud to be a Green Wave. I see teachers caring about their students on individual levels. I see students maturing spiritually and academically. I see student-athletes walking around like state champions. I see students, faculty & staff, and families praying and celebrating Mass together. I see a community pursuing excellence within the Catholic tradition.
Father Lopez is a place I consider my second home. I am extremely grateful to be given the opportunity to provide the encouragement and love that was given to me to my students. Many of you may already know that tuition alone does not allow us to deliver this exceptional educational experience. So as you weigh making end-of-year gifts to your favorite charities, I hope that you will also consider supporting our alma mater with a gift to The Lopez Fund.
