A MESSAGE FROM THE PRESIDENT
Dr. Michael J. Coury
mcoury@fatherlopez.org

Have you heard the one about three priests, a governor and an umpire? Sorry to disappoint you, but this is no joke. However, it makes for a nice sequi for announcing the release of our 2015 Annual Report magazine.

The report is scheduled for mailing in the next few days. It highlights many of the successes achieved last year by our students, faculty and the school. Within the 32 pages of the magazine, we also have an opportunity to thank our donors and benefactors and to recognize some of our 3,800 alumni. It is in the alumni section that you will read about three Lopez grads who are now priests, one who is the Governor of Maryland, and another who umpired in the 2014 World Series.

Seven pages in the report cover our newest alumni--the 124 members in our Class of 2015. This is the largest of the 56 classes to graduate from Father Lopez. It is also our first $5 million class! These grads were offered 170 college scholarships valued at $5,478,198.

The report also provides our readers with academic, demographic and financial data. In this section, you will discover that the average cost to educate each student last year was $11,159. Tuition revenue alone does not cover this expense. That is why we humbly ask you to consider making a voluntary gift in support of The Lopez Fund. No gift is too large or too small. Each gift is valued and appreciated, as it benefits every student, every day at Lopez.

When you turn to page three of the report, you will find this QR Code. Scanning the code with your mobile device will take you to a two-minute You Tube video. Once there, you will get to see and hear many Lopez students thanking you for your support of our beloved high school. I know you will enjoy the message they have for you.

Please know of our prayers for you and for all members of the family that is Father Lopez Catholic High School.
NEW FACULTY MEMBERS
We are pleased to welcome two new members to the Lopez faculty. Mrs. Diana Sclafani will be a resource teacher in our Exceptional Student Education (ESE) program. A graduate of Brooklyn College in New York, she has a degree in Special Education and Florida certification in Varying Exceptionalities, grades K-12. She will be working part-time at Father Lopez, part-time at St. Peter Catholic School in DeLand.  She has served the St. Peter community for 14 years. Prior to coming to Florida, she was a Special Education teacher in New York.

Ms. Patricia Horel will also be serving the Lopez community on a part-time basis. She will be one of the two certified math instructors staffing our Math Tutoring Center (MTC). She has a BS degree in Marketing and Mathematics from Florida State University, and a MS degree in Mathematics Education from the University of Central Florida. She previously taught math at Winter Park High School (five years) and at Trinity Prep (13 years). The Lopez MTC will be open during study hall on Mondays and Wednesdays in the O'Neill Family Media Center.
LOPEZ STUDENT ACCEPTED TO MENSA HONOR SOCIETY
Lopez junior Sarah Hill has been accepted into the Mensa Honor Society! As a member of Mensa, Sarah scored within the upper two percent of the general population on an approved intelligence test. She has now been accepted into the group's Honor Society which is open to Young Mensans in 10th through 12th grades. The ideals of the Mensa Honor Society are integrity, intellectual curiosity, academic commitment and service. Congratulations, Sarah!
QUARTERBACK CLUB HONORS SPENCER
The Daytona Beach Quarterback Club named Josh Spencer as their Offensive Player of the Week on September 14. The award came following Spencer's stellar performances versus Warner Christian and Atlantic. Coach Bobby Bowden was on hand to help with the award presentation. Congratulations, Josh!
