ATTENTION:  Current, active psychotherapists who plan to register with CRPO via 'Grandparenting'

The transitional Council is seeking a small number of prospective members (approximately 50) to test the online Grandparenting Application and registration process.  We are particularly interested in practitioners who have not been closely following the regulatory process to date.

In order to qualify, we ask that you have successfully completed the Professional Practice and Jurisprudence e-Learning module.

Selected volunteers, ideally representing a range of psychotherapeutic traditions, practice styles and years in practice, will be asked to complete a detailed online Application, in late-January or early February.  The Application will take several hours to complete, and can be done over several sessions.

We will also be asking participants to provide feedback on their experience in completing the Application, to help us refine the online form, instructions, supplementary materials and process.

Please note that we also intend to test the 'audit' process, which will require randomly selected participants to submit additional documentation to support claims made in their Application. Volunteers should be prepared, therefore, to provide additional information if they are selected.

Participants will receive an electronic report of the data they have entered, so they may use it again in their actual Application for registration at a later date.  Pre-registration is expected to open by the end of March.

Participants will be asked to maintain confidentiality of the process and feedback.

To express your interest in participating in this pilot testing, kindly reply by email to: pilot@crpo.ca by Thursday, January 16th, telling us very briefly:

  • where you practice
  • how long you have been in practice
  • your psychotherapeutic tradition or practice style
  • anything else you think is relevant.

We thank all those who express interest in participating; however, only those selected will be contacted by Council staff.  No phone calls, please.

Sincerely,

Lorna Irwin
