Phase Two of ACCC Transmission Line Upgrade Completed in Siberia In October 2014, with the support of engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) firm Meridian LTD., ОАО Tyumenenergo (one of Russia's largest interregional distribution grid companies), completed the installation of 619 kcmil (313.8 square mm) Oslo size ACCC conductor to increase the capacity of an existing 110 kV transmission line near Tyumen City in the Tyumen Region of West Siberia. In January, 2015 the second phase of the Tyumenskaya-Ozhongino line was completed using 832 kcmil (421.4 square mm) Brussels size ACCC conductor, which had been stored outdoors for 20 months in temperatures ranging from -45°C to +35°C prior to its installation. Both ACCC conductors were manufactured and delivered by SimRoss-Lamifil. Installation support was provided by SimRoss engineer Zolotikov who had also supported the Cherepet to Orbita and Sputnik to Kaluzhskaya 220 kV ACCC line upgrades. The completed project linked the Tyumen CHPP-2 power plant with the Shirotnaya and Agogino substations. Tyumen CHPP-2 is the largest and one of the most efficient power plants of the Territorial Generating Company #10 ("TGC-10") owned by the Finnish group Fortum. Fortum is the third largest foreign investor in the Russian power industry and one of the leading manufacturers and suppliers of thermal and electric energy in the Urals and Western Siberia. The total installed capacity of branches, subsidiaries and affiliates of the company is 4,758,221 MW. The Fortum structure consists of nine power plants. Five in the Chelyabinsk region and four in the Tyumen region. Fortum is actively ensuring the energy security of the territories through the development of generation and the utilization of advanced energy-efficient technologies such as the ACCC conductor.
