The Passionate Pursuit of Efficiency
-Productivity Tip-

Sticking to your routine does wonders for your productivity.
Try setting an alarm to go off for your allocated amount of time for that activity. This forces you onto the next task, just don't keep going (it's way to easy to fall into that trap).

Greetings!

Truthfully, I get excited talking about projects! Words like stakeholders, charters and due dates excite me. I even get excited talking about project risk.

One of my favourite workshops I deliver, and often the hardest is the FMEA or Failure Mode and Affect Analysis. This is a systematic tool that is a proactive method for evaluating a process or product to identify where and how it might fail and that failure's impact on the project. As I say to my clients, there are gaps in every project, the question is, when things fall through the gaps, are they falling through a gaping hole that stops everything in its tracks or a small crack that one can recover from quickly?

I feel so strong about the FMEA tool, that I wrote a blog about it, FMEA: A Wonderful Tool For Risk Management. Check it out and let me know what you think.

Cheers to being proactive about risk.

Who Knew! Stats to Chew On

"Control is not leadership; management is not leadership; leadership is leadership is leadership. If you seek to lead, invest at least 50% of your time leading yourself-your own purpose, ethics, principles, motivation, conduct. Invest at least 20% leading those with authority over you and 15% leading your peers. If you don't understand that you work for your mislabelled 'subordinates,' then you know nothing of leadership. You know only tyranny."

Adriana's Tip to Get to the Cottage Faster

Dreaming of a cottage escape but tired of all the work to get everyone organized?

Create a list of everything you need to bring and save it...use it over and over to know, without thinking what you need to do. It makes it easier to delegate tasks because it's on the list and not in your head. You will be out the door faster than ever before.
