Did You Know?

- One glass of wine is drunk for every three bottles of beer.

- The four key ingredients in beer are water, yeast, malt and hops. The key ingredient in wine? Grapes.

Red wine is considered to be the oldest man-made medicine as its healing value is mentioned on Ancient Egyptian Papyri dating back more than 4000 years.

U.S. President Nixon is said to have had his Chateau Margaux served to him in a bottle which was wrapped in a towel in order to conceal that his guests were getting inferior wine.

Intense fear or hatred of wine is called oenophobia.

"Members Only" Holiday Party was a Big Hit!

More than 100 people attended the
2013 Member Holiday Party at the
Petaluma Art Center
The PGWA "Members Only" Holiday Party was held at the Petaluma Arts Center on Thursday, December 12th from 6:00 to 8:30 pm. More than 100 members and their guests attended this festive event! The Board of Directors provided cheese platters, sandwich wraps, and a variety of other tasty bites. With everyone bringing a bottle of wine to share, there was plenty of wine to carry everyone through the music-filled evening. It was fun to taste the wide variety of great wines from the Gap, both commercial and home-made! And yes, a few non-Gap wines were smuggled in -- and some weren't too bad!

The party was a great opportunity to reconnect with fellow PGWA members and toast the Holiday Season. Many members also took the opportunity to renew their membership for 2014Not a member yet? Check out the member benefits on our membership pageDon't miss out on our 2014 events and other member benefits!
