Welcome to Moonstone Center's Newsletter, The Healer's Life!

As the Founder and Director of Moonstone Center, I feel enormous gratitude.  As we launch our first Newsletter, I am amazed at the journey we have traveled these last few years and thrill at what is on the horizon.   I want to thank each of you who have supported Moonstone Center and me as its Founder and Director by attending past Continuing Education and Networking Events, my own speaking engagements, and by generally helping us spread the word for those experiences.  Thank you also to those of you who have supported me by being a member of our Continuing Education Board, our Treatment Team Network and for referring steadily to me and to Moonstone Center.  And thank you to those of you who are just now joining Moonstone Center through our Newsletter, The Healer's Life! We invite each of you to continue on the journey with Moonstone Center, attend our events, and share our newsletter with your professional colleagues and fellow healers.  Through The Healer's Life we will honor our three-fold focus of Psychotherapy, Wellness, and Professional Development.  We will share current and research-based trends, articles and book recommendations that support integrated whole person treatment.  And, we will keep you informed of our Continuing Education and Network Calendar of Events!

Our mantra, Serving Those Who Serve and Heal, captures the spirit and attitude from which we are producing all of our Continuing Education and Networking events and services aimed toward the professionals we serve.  Moonstone Center also serves the general public through psychodynamic psychotherapy and a network of independent traditional and complementary-alternative practitioners.   At Moonstone Center, all of our services incorporate an understanding of each individual as a whole person, a mental, emotional, physical, spiritual, and relational being.

Each issue of Moonstone Center's Newsletter, The Healer's Life, will include a spotlight of upcoming happenings at Moonstone Center, including Continuing Education Events, Community Networking Events, my own speaking calendar, a monthly article and resources for you as a professional and as a human being attempting to live a balanced and vibrant life.

So go ahead, explore the rest of The Healer's Life!  Learn more about our upcoming CEU Event on October 28, 2011, Dancing the Transference: Honoring the Relationship Between Therapist and Client held at The Beach House in Hermosa Beach, California (http://www.moonstonecenter.com/Event-DancingTransference.html).

Dancing the Transference is a topic I have spoken, consulted, and written to steadily over the last decade with consistent positive acceptance and feedback and requests for more.  This 6 Hour CE Workshop is an answer to those requests over the years.  In this workshop, I will focus on how to understand and address transference as both a psychodynamic concept and a neuro-psycho-physiological process.  I will explore and teach its application across many and varied theoretical orientations and therapeutic modalities.  And I will introduce and attend to the concept of Somatic Transference, a term I have used in the last few years as I have begun to more deeply understand the powerful role of physical and neurological expressions of trauma, attachment disruption, and life stress in otherwise traditional mental health treatment.

If you ever find that something is happening in your psychotherapy with a client that does not make sense to you, if you have ever experienced strong emotion, positive or negative in response to a patient, and if a day away at the beach sounds divine! - Then this workshop is for you!  Please spread the word and bring a colleague!  We would love to have you join us for this day of meaningful and dynamic learning in a nurturing and restorative setting at the beach!    To check it out and to register, please see below and visit our website:  http://www.moonstonecenter.com/Event-DancingTransference.html

Julie Brown, Moonstone Center's Events Manager, will be the guiding force in getting the word out, marketing this and other events, and registering those of you who want to join us for this and future incredible "days away" in 2011-2012.  Please don't hesitate to contact her if you would like more information, a brochure (print or digital) or to register.   (Julie Brown - Email:  Events@MoonstoneCenter.com    Phone:310-371-2800, ext 2#).

Looking forward to seeing you there!

Peace,

Elisabeth, Julie, and The Moonstone Team
