President Holmes Awarded Honor



Dr. Barbara A. Holmes has been recognized by the George Family Foundation as one of 84 exceptional women leaders making remarkable contributions to building the Twin Cities. The recent event, "Celebrating Twin Cities Women Leaders," was held at the Guthrie Theater in conjunction with a preview performance of "The Heidi Chronicles." Read more about this inaugural event.

Wing Young HuieHonored documentary photographer Wing Young Huie will provide context and insight as he speaks about his work on exhibition in the United Galleries, "WE ARE DIFFERENT, WE ARE THE SAME."

 

Known for documenting the sights and people along the Twin Cities' most colorful streets, Huie tackles topics such as race, class, interpretation and what often hides in plain sight. The exhibition runs through November 21. Registration for the reception is requested.

In honor of the chapel's 10th anniversary, architecture writer Linda Mack and president emeritus Wilson Yates, under whose administration the award-winning chapel was built, lead the tour and discussion. Make a day of it and stay for Community Worship, followed by lunch in the Context Caf�.

Celebrating 10 Years
 
The Bigelow Chapel, with its stunning, award-winning architecture, often is described as the warm, embracing heart of the seminary. It's hard to believe 10 years have passed since its consecration. United is marking this anniversary year with a variety of events. Look for the 10-year mark.
