The income generated through the Annual Fund makes United possible!
If you are willing to spend two hours during any day that week or if you have time available on Monday, Tuesday or Thursday evening, contact Kathleen Remund at [email protected] or 651.255.6112 and we'll get you on the schedule.

NEWS FROM THE DEAN
Cindi Beth Johnson new director of art, faith and culture
I am pleased to announce that Cindi Beth Johnson's title has been changed to "director of art, faith and culture."
Cindi Beth brought many of her gifts and talents to the United community in her former role as the director of community programming in the arts, religion and spirituality. The change in title better reflects her responsibilities in the theology and art programming at United.
We look forward to new and exciting theology and art programming under Cindi Beth's direction.

TR650 Theology in Contemporary Film
Announcing an addition to the spring 2013-14 course schedule: Jann Cather Weaver, United's Associate Professor Emerita of Worship, and Theology and the Art, will teach Theology in Contemporary Film on Thursdays, 6:00 - 9:15 PM. Course description:
Discerning theological dimensions in contemporary film requires learning to read a film's theology, not imposing one's theological views upon a film. This course will introduce students to the tools of 'seeing' the theology/ies in contemporary film, enabling students to grapple with different theological perspectives. We will also discuss the social context of each film. As we examine the films, the films will in turn examine our lives of action and beliefs. This is not a film studies course. Tentative films: Sweet Land; Departures; Avatar; Daughters of the Dust; There will be Blood; Lars and the Real Girl; The Butler.
There no prerequisites, although IS152, TR271, a bible course, and//or a theology course would be helpful background.
Seeking Students for a WRITING RESOURCES POOL We are looking for students to provide help with writing, editing and proofing student-written papers on an as-needed basis. Work opportunities may begin immediately. Pay starts at $10.00 per hour.
Contact Deb Olsen, [email protected] or call 651.255.6168 to be placed on the Writing Resources Pool contact list.
