Dear Rainier Community,
On Wednesday, 11/19/14, we will be commemorating the life of Justin Semana. Justin's passing last year was a big loss to our community. It is a reminder of how strong and supportive we are as a community. Justin was one of our founding students at Rainier. He was described by his family, peers, friends, teachers as a respectful, supportive, and determined individual who cared for those around him.
To commemorate Justin's life, this Wednesday we will have a series of activities in the morning and during lunch. Please join us in commemorating Justin. Wenesday morning:
- A memorial will be set up outside to commemorate Justin. Everyone (all grade levels, faculty, etc.) is welcome to contribute to the memorial such as flowers, pictures, letters, etc.
Wednesday during lunch:
- Justin loved playing basketball and was on the boys basketball team. As part of his commemoration, members of the basketball teams will be hosting a basketball hoop competition in the basketball courts. Everyone (all grade levels, faculty, etc.) is welcome to participate, even if you don't have experience playing basketball!
Wednesday after school - event for the senior class:
- Justin was part of our first soon-to-be graduating class. To celebrate his accomplishments and to celebrate how far the senior class has made it, the seniors (Rainier & Tahoma) and their families, and faculty are invited to a potluck after school in room 1221. We will begin at 5pm right after after school PLT. Seniors and faculty, please bring a dish, snack, or drink to share.
