Message from the Directors

Dear Rainier Community,

This week students are working on their Orientation Projects, meeting their teachers and learning about the Summit organization. There has been a very positive and productive buzz around the project and students are excited to show off their recommendations.
We hope that you will be able to join us for the PSCG meeting this Thursday at 6:30pm.

Our all school camping trip is scheduled for next Thursday-Friday, September 4-5. We are still in need of drivers and cannot make this trip happen without parent support.  We also love when our parents join us overnight because we get to see them meeting new parents, laughing and cheering for our students in the talent show, and helping to feed our students.

Sincerely,

Jesse Roe, Executive Director

Kevin Bock, Assistant Director

Donations are very much needed to cover the cost of the trip. A suggested donation of $25 per student is requested. Donations may be brought into the office or paid online:

Rainier Carpool Coordination

Rainier Families,

We know that our community comes from a vast breadth all over San Jose giving us an amazing amount of diversity. It has also given us the challenge of making sure every student can get to school without worrying over who will take them there and reducing gasoline usage (and spending). The best solution that combines both time and cost savings is carpooling.

Our goal this year is to have every student get the choice to carpool to Rainier. We are asking that ALL families enroll, even if the need is not urgent for them. The benefits of carpooling include more time for parents to stay home, and a chance for students to meet with each other.

One major concern for many families is that they would like to keep their street address private. We re-designed our application to be more accommodating for that wish. You now have the option of designating a common location such as a shopping center where your student could go and be picked up/dropped off from there.

To join the Carpool program, please go to this link and follow the instructions. After completing the form, you will receive a designated group with the contact information of all families in the group.

Families who already have an existing carpool arrangement, we would still like you to enroll as there may be students in your area who do not know about the carpool group. In rare cases, we may ask to split your group if it's full and students are still in need of a carpool. Please do not let this daunt you.
