Message from the Directors

Dear Rainier Families,

First Day of School

School starts for all students on August 18 at 9am! Your student will receive their year-long schedule on Friday, August 22.

Back to School Night

To better welcome all families to the 2014 - 2015 school year at Rainier, we've decided to hold our Back to School Night during the first week of school. Our hope is to clearly communicate our expectations to students and parents early and often. Please join us on August 21 at 6:30 pm.

Construction Timeline Update

As we get closer to the beginning of the school year, we have clearer dates for when the different parts of our campus improvement project will be finished. Due to an unpredicted change in contractor mid-summer, some improvements are behind schedule. However, all improvements will still be made according to the plan shared with families in the Spring.

Phase 1: Before the first day of school on August 18, all extra portables will be demolished to create more open space on campus and two basketball courts will be added to our campus. All other loud construction work will be completed before the 18th so that there will be no noise disruptions to classes.

Phase 2: By the end of the weekend of our camping trip, the bathroom structure will be installed and sinks will be added to two of the classrooms.

Phase 3: By the end of the PLP Family meeting weekend, a large shade structure will be added on the west side of the campus.

Since construction projects depend on the timing of various materials, manpower, and permits, it is possible that there are some additional minor tweaks to the schedule.

Senior Class Portraits

Rising 12th grade Bulldogs, it's time to start taking those fancy senior portraits for the 2014-2015 yearbook! We are working with Pro Image Studios in San Jose. Just go to www.proimagestudio.com and select "Schedule Senior Portrait Appointment" from the top menu, then select the San Jose studio. If you have any questions, call Pro Image at 408-269-3677. All senior portraits must be taken by November 8, 2014. Also, there is a no cost "Yearbook Only" option for families who do not want to purchase a portrait package.
