Happy Summer everyone!  

 

We would like to welcome everyone to join 'Parents & Students for a Common Goal' (or PSCG - formerly known as PIVOT) where we work together in conjunction with Summit Rainier faculty to make Rainier's High School experience the best it can be. We would like to extend a sincere thank you to Janet Amaro for leading the parent support group this past year.

 

We are in the process of outlining our goals for the 2014-2015 school year from the PSCG perspective and we are asking both students and parents to consider joining PSCG. Our students in particular are asked to be active participants.

 

In the spirit of less is more, we have re-aligned committees. If a committee is not specifically on the list, it means it now rolls up under one of the committees listed below. The most important change we are implementing this year will be that each committee and subcommittees will be co-led by parents and students.

Our first PSCG meeting is scheduled for Monday, July 28, 2014 at 6:30pm on the Tahoma campus.

  • Wednesday, July 23 - Mandatory Meeting for Fall Sports (Cross Country, Volleyball, Cheer), Tahoma Campus, 6pm
  • Monday, July 28 - PSCG Meeting (Parents & Students for a Common Goal), Tahoma Campus, 6:30pm
  • Wednesday, July 30 - Get Stuff Done Day, 6pm
    • Turn in paperwork
    • Take school pictures
    • Meet new classmates
  • Wednesday, July 30 - Make Up Mandatory Meeting for Fall Sports, Tahoma Campus, 6pm
  • Friday, August 1 - Paperwork due - Recent mailer contained important paperwork that needs to be completed and returned to the office manager. If at all possible, please bring to Get Stuff Done Day on July 30. Questions, please contact Rainier's office manager.
  • Saturday, August 2 - Summer Mixer, 4-6pm
    • for continuing and new families

  • Friday, August 8 - Athletic Paperwork for Fall Sports Due
  • Monday, August 18 - First Day of School
  • Tuesday, August 26 - Back to School Night for Returning Parents - 6:30-8:30pm
  • Thursday, August 28 - Back to School Night for New Parents - 6:30-8:30pm 
  • Thursday - Friday, September 4-5 - Rainier Camping Trip, Parent drivers and chaperones needed from all grades. Contact Patti Hares for more information.
