Message from the Directors

Dear Rainier Community,

Office Closure
The Rainier office will be closed starting on Monday, June 9 due to preparations for construction. As planned, we will be moving all operations over to Tahoma for the entire summer. Anything you need from the Rainier office can be done at the Tahoma office at 14271 Story Rd. Both schools will be completely closed from June 30 through July 4.

New Dress Code
The Rainier and Tahoma faculties have agreed to change from a uniform policy to a dress code. We decided to keep the dress code as simple as possible and have it based on two the main principles of safety and appropriateness. The full dress code can be found below:

1) Clothing & accessories are safe

  • No solid red or blue (pants, shirts, shoes or hats)

    • Except:

      • Blue jeans are OK

      • Solid red and blue OK on college gear

  • No Sharks, Raiders, 49ers, or Cowboys logos

  • No references to drugs, alcohol, sex, profanity, gangs or violence

2) Clothing & accessories are school appropriate

  • Clothing must thoroughly cover stomach, chest, and back.

    • Straps should be at least 2 fingers wide.

  • Shorts and skirts must go past fingertips

    • Any holes in pants must be below fingertips and cover undergarments

  • No exposed undergarments (underwear, bra, boxers)
One clarification, no solid red or blue means that each article of clothing should be less than 50% red or blue.

Don't get rid of your polo shirts. We will be using old Summit San Jose polo shirts to help dress the students who do not come to school following our dress code. So, send in your extra polo shirts and turn them in at the office on the first day next year.

Sincerely,

Jesse Roe, Executive Director

Summer Interact

Interact Club of Summit Rainier is hosting a Summer Interact program from early July to mid-August. Interact Club is the youth division of Rotary International. Interact Club focuses on teaching people the importance of serving the community while making new friends, having fun, and building leadership skills. We have a mixture of both service events and fun bonding get-togethers planned such as ice skating and ice cream socials. We especially encourage incoming freshmen to sign up as they figure out what they want to do in high school as well as meet their fellow Bulldogs before school starts in August. There is no monetary fee for Interact, but the time your student puts into Interact will pay you back many times over.

For more information, please contact  the Club President, John Gundayao at  jgundayao.ra@mysummitps.org.
