Dear Rainier Families,

As the year winds down, we continue to be impressed by the growth we see in our students. Last Friday all students reflected on their past projects and shared the projects they were most proud of with their mentor group. Many students reported that this celebration of their learning helped push them to continue growing for the last two weeks of the school year.

To continue this celebration of growth, Rainier is hosting its State of the School and Celebration of Learning this Thursday, May 29 from 6:30 - 8:00 pm on the Rainier campus. The State of the School address will go from 6:30 - 7:00 pm and will address the progress we've made this year and our hopes to build on that progress next year and beyond. The address will be followed by a gallery walk of student work where our students will share work they are proud of and how that work has helped them develop as learners. All families and students are welcome, including our new class of 2018 families. You can also bring families and students who are curious about enrolling at Rainier next year and want to learn more. Unfortunately, we had to schedule this event on the same evening as Mt. Pleasant's graduation so arrive early to leave enough time to find parking.

Thank you to all of the students and families that have shared their thoughts about the uniform policy. A small team of Rainier and Tahoma teachers are putting together a proposal for next year. We will have an update on next year's uniform policy at the PIVOT meeting on June 5. If you haven't had a chance to share your input, please email Mr. Roe directly at jroe@summitps.org.
