Dear Rainier Community,
We are very excited to welcome the newest Rainier Bulldogs and Tahoma Thunderbirds - the Classes of 2018 - to our community. In that spirit, we hope you will be able to join us this Friday, May 16 at 5:30pm for an Ice Cream Social on the Tahoma Campus located at 14271 Story Road. We will be outdoors, so bring a lawn chair or blanket to sit on the grass as you relax, listen to music, and meet other incoming families. Some of our current parents, students and teachers will be there to make delicious ice cream sundaes, chat, and answer any questions you have about the coming school year. Please be aware that there may be road closures on Marten Ave. on Tuesday, May 13 for the Amgen Tour of California Bike Race. The race starts at 10:45am at nearby Lake Cunningham, so roads are expected to be affected starting at 10:35am. The road will be reopened as soon as the riders pass through.
This year, Stage 3 takes riders up both Mt. Hamilton and Mt. Diablo. The King of the Mountain jersey (which features red polka dots) is awarded to the rider with the best climber in the race.
