Dear Students and Families,
We are writing to let you know about an exciting academic opportunity! For five weeks this summer we will be opening up our campuses and inviting our students to continue to develop their cognitive skills, to work on their content mastery, and to make progress on their habits of success. This letter is to explain what the Summer of Summit is, when it is happening, and what the next steps are.
Summer of Summit is open to all students, and taking advantage of this opportunity to make progress on cognitive skills and content will set students up for success in the coming year.
Each day will begin with students working in small groups practicing their cognitive skills. At the end of their work time, students will meet with their site teachers to reflect on the work they have done, the growth they have made, and how they should be focusing their energy moving forward.
In the coming weeks, your child's mentor will reach out to you to discuss setting up a specific plan for success, which will include identifying how many of the available weeks your child should attend. Summer of Summit happens Tuesday - Friday in the following weeks:
- Week 1: June 24 - June 27
- Week 2: July 8 - July 11
- Week 3: July 15 - July 18
- Week 4: July 22 - July 25
- Week 5: July 29 - August 1
We are delighted to provide this opportunity for our students. Your child's mentor will be in touch soon.
Sincerely,
Lesley Martin, Interim Director Summit Public Schools: Rainier |
