Message from the Directors
Dear Rainier Families,
We want to extend a huge thank you to all who have given so generously of their time and support to help the school in so many ways...from participating in the fundraiser to helping keep track of technology. These past few weeks, we have raised significant funds for our students to attend the college study trips. On top of that, many parents spent this past weekend beautifying the campus. The new picnic tables, landscaping and awnings look wonderful. It is a true privilege to work in a community that is supportive of their school and faculty. Thank you!
After a very productive and fun Expeditions, we are eager to start another round of Projects! Your student will be participating in some incredibly involved, rigorous and exciting experiences over the next few weeks. This past Tuesday, an email and paper copies of the Rainier Academic Update were sent home detailing upcoming assignments and grade level activities. The school also earned Donut Day celebrating a job well done. The week of April 7-11 will be casual dress for the entire week as part of a reward for completing many content assessment and projects. Grade level rewards will be announced soon.
Thanks to the Summit technology team and volunteers. This past Monday all the school Chromebooks were refurbished, cleaned and repaired. We expect that all students will take care of these computers by using them correctly, storing in their assigned slots and plugging into classroom chargers.
9th and 10th grade parents, Rainier is hosting a Parent Engagement Workshop this Thursday, April 3 from 5:30-6:30pm, Rainier teachers will be present to review the student dashboard, and discuss student progress. We hope you will attend. Following this event, the Rainier/ Tahoma PIVOT meeting will meet at Tahoma at 6:30 pm.
11th Grade is on a study trip to Los Angeles. We look forward to hearing about their adventure when they return this Friday.
The Summit San Jose Spring Fiesta is this Saturday April 5 from 12- 3 pm. on the Tahoma campus. Come for an afternoon of fun, students vs. faculty kickball, lunch, raffle, Best Salsa contest, piñatas for the kids and lots more! We hope to see you there.
Thank you and have a great week.

Alyssa Martinez, Yearbook Editor
The Yearbook Club is a student-run group dedicated to preserving memories of student life throughout the year. It allows the accomplishments and activities of our students to be documented and celebrated. Our student staff has been working hard to make sure every student, club, and event is celebrated in its pages. However in order to get the Yearbook publish we need to raise $1,800 by mid-April. So please share this link http://www.gofundme.com/7jpnm8 with ALL your contacts and encourage them to donate as much as they can.
Send your student selfies to Yearbook Editor Alyssa Martinez. Team Sport pictures (boys basketball, roller hockey, softball, girls basketball, volleyball, cross country) can be emailed to Azra Hill.
