Opportunities to Support the Semana Family

We have received many requests for how our community can support the Semana family. At this time, the family is still considering how they would like to use monetary donations. In the meantime, donations can be turned into the front office at both Rainier and Tahoma. Ms. Lamcke will be collecting all the donations and will share them with the family.

The Boys' Basketball Team is also selling t-shirts for $15, with all funds raised going to support the Semana family. To purchase a t-shirt, please contact a member of the team or Coach J.

Ongoing Support for Parents and Students

We will continue to provide ongoing support for students at both campuses next week. Grief counselors will be available to speak with students individually as needed.  In addition, the school administrators and teachers are always available to provide students with what they need - a quiet space, someone to talk to, resources about dealing with loss, and much more.

Thank you to the parents who attended this morning's Coffee with the Director. We had an opportunity to share how we are dealing with this loss and to hear from grief counselors about the best ways to support our students at home. We will host an additional Coffee with the Director on Tuesday, November 26th from 9-10am on the Rainier campus. We encourage all Summit San Jose parents to attend who would like support in how to help your student deal with this tragedy.

Finally, we want to share with you a tribute to Justin, created by our faculty and students. It is one of the many ways we have set up for students to honor and remember Justin Semana.

Best,

Pam Lamcke & Nick Kim, Principals
