Intent to Re/Enroll Form - Due October 11

Current and potential Summit Public School: Rainier parents and guardians -

Under California law (i.e. Proposition 39) the East Side Union High School DIstrict must provide Summit Public School: Rainier reasonably equivalent school facilities in which to operate the charter school. We need everyone to fill out the Intent to Re/Enroll Form and return it to the office by October 11. All students were given a form in their Community Mentor Time on Friday. If you cannot find that form or are not currently enrolled, please use this link for English or Spanish

Parent Workshop
There will be a free parent workshop on October 10, 2013 from 6 - 7:30pm presented by Lt. Col. Consuelo Kickbusch, author of Journey to the Future. Acknowledged as a charismatic, passionate and entertaining speaker, she carries her powerful message of what it takes to be an effective leader in today's global marketplace to hundreds of colleges/universities, corporations, and government institutions, both in the US and abroad. This workshop will provide strategies for parents on motivating their children to stay in school, complete their education and pursue some level of post-secondary education or training. There is no charge for the workshop, but participants must register by October 7. Please register by clicking here: http://santaclara.k12oms.org. (go to October 10, and click more for additional calendar items.) For additional information, contact Mary Ann Burke (408) 453-4322. To view the flyer, click for English or Spanish

Fall Fundraiser - October 12

ComedySports fundraiser tickets will be available in the office. Rainier parent, Helen Sironen will be selling tickets in the mornings, lunch time and at pick up times next week. Please come and buy your tickets and support Summit San Jose.

Our Fall Fundraiser is just around the corner and we need everyone's participation. We will be bringing ComedySportz to our school Saturday, October 12th at 6pm in the Mt. Pleasant HS Theatre.

Not comedy about sports, but comedy AS a sport! ComedySportz is the award winning interactive comedy show where two teams of "act-letes" compete for audience laughs and points while improvising scenes, games, operas and musicals based on audience suggestions. A referee governs the action, calling fouls and keeping the match moving at a blistering pace. The audience is always a part of the interactive show, and sometimes even winds up on stage! It's clean, fast and fun for all audiences. The Silicon Valley's longest-running show, they've been named Editor's Choice by the Wave Magazine and Best Local Theatre by the Metro's Best of the Silicon Valley.

Advance tickets are $10 - and they are available in the office (room 1215). Or send in this form with payment. If tickets do not sell out in advance, they will be sold at the door on the night of the show for $15, but don't wait to purchase tickets as there are only a limited number of seats. Summit Rainier has 200 tickets that we need to sell, Summit Tahoma is selling the other 200 tickets. Proceeds support Summit Rainier and Tahoma academic programs.

There will be food concessions before and after the show! Pizza, nachos, egg rolls and drinks! Please note that food/drinks are not allowed in the theater.

We need 12 Rainier volunteers to help with Set Up, Ticket Sales, Concession Stand Sales, Ticket Takers, Ushers, CleanUp and to loan Crockpots for the Nachos. Please sign up here.
