API Scores
We are excited to announce that Rainier has maintained our API score of 823. This score ranks us among the top public high schools in Santa Clara County, as well as in the top schools in East Side Union High School District. We are also pleased to announce significant growth in both our low-income and Latino subgroups. The API scores for both low-income and Latino students ranks us in the top 20% of high schools in the county as well. Congratulations to our students and faculty from 2012-13 for continuing to shine!

Respectfully,

Pamela Lamcke, Principal

Last year, the Summit San Jose Wrestling team was very successful, with wrestlers placing and winning in every tournament attended. The plans are for 6 frosh/soph and 6 varsity tournaments.

Conditioning will beging Monday, September 23 - time/location TBD. Cost for the season is $125. Girls are welcome, so please spread the word. If you are interested in being contacted with further information, please contact Teresa Attebery.

Winter Sports Meeting

There will be a mandatory parent and athlete meeting for all Winter sports (Basketball and Wrestling) on October 10 at 6pm in the Tahoma campus auditorium.

Cross Country

Our Cross Country team is doing great. We had a great race at the Chieftain Invitational at Toro Park in Salinas - the competition was tough, but our runners were ready for it all. They started strong and finished strong. Congratulations to all and thanks to the parents for their tremendous support. The Cross Country meet schedule can be found here.

Volleyball

On Friday and Saturday, September 13 and 14, the Rainier and Tahoma teams participated in the two day Dig Pink Volleyball Tournament hosted by Santa Clara High School. Both did very well and bettered themselves as teams. It was an intense two days, where the players, coaches and parents had fun while supporting a cause to raise awareness about breast cancer and research. Special thanks to all our wonderful coaches, parents and volleyball teams for their hard work. The Volleyball game schedule can be found here.

More information about our sports teams is available on our website: rainierbulldogs.olinesports.com

Roller Hockey

Prashant Bala and Mr. Evan Lee

Summit is trying to start a roller hockey team. This is a co-ed team - boys and girls - and any grade level - freshmen, sophomores or juniors - can join. You do not need any equipment. Depending on how many students we can get to join, the price will vary. Are there any parents who would like to sponsor our team, or do you have old equipment that the team could use? Please contact Prashant Bala or Coach Mr. Lee for more information.

Summit Rainier YahooGroup

1. Go to the group home page and click Join
2. Send a blank email to this address and responding to the confirmation
3. Email group moderator, Diane Tom and she will send you an invitation to the group
Morning and Afternoon Traffic

Rainier drivers: The white painted curb on Marten Ave is for Rainier pick-up/drop-offs but it goes unused while many folks are double-parking directly in front of the Rainier gate. This is unsafe both for our students and the surrounding community, please pull up to the white curb to drop off your students.

Traffic monitors
Volunteers are needed to direct traffic at the curb on Marten Ave in front of the Rainier gate during morning drop-off (8:30-9am) and afternoon pick-up (3:50-4:20pm). Please sign up for your choice of day and shift here (scroll down to On-campus).
