Message from the Directors
Dear Rainier Families,
We had a great turn-out for our Get Stuff Done event. However, it is very important that everyone turn in their forms as soon as possible. The office is now open during the week on our Rainier Campus, and we ask that you bring any outstanding paperwork as soon as possible. Our office is accessible from Marten Ave - room 1215 of the portables on the south side of the Mt. Pleasant High School campus. We are there weekdays from 8am to 5pm.
Our Summer Mixer will be held Saturday, August 10 from 4-6pm on the Tahoma campus. It will be a joint Rainier/Tahoma event. Bring the whole family for games, activities and a raffle to kick off the year! See below for more information.
New Student Orientation will be held from 9am-noon on August 12, 13 and 14 on the Rainier Campus. This is mandatory for all new students to attend. The first day of school for all students is August 19 at 9am.
School events are listed on the PIVOT calendar. If you have not yet been to the PIVOT website, please check it out and bookmark the site - it has all the information that you need to know about Summit San Jose: Rainier. We also encourage all parents to join us at the monthly PIVOT meeting - our next meeting is this Thursday, August 8 at 6:30pm on the Tahoma campus.
Respectfully,
Pamela Lamcke, Principal
Lia Pinelli, Assistant Director

Facilities Work Day Update
Pamela Lamcke, Principal
What a day! A huge thank you to all of the families that participated in the work day this past Saturday. We had a great turn out and made huge progress on both our move and setting up our new campus. We had families moving furniture and boxes from Tahoma, families setting up the faculty room for our teachers, families hanging bulletin boards to liven up our classrooms, families planting flowers, and much much more. A special thank you to the families who stayed until 5pm to build new benches for our students.
A huge shout out to Janet Amaro, Patti and Steve Hares, Benjamin Hartwell, Phillis Chan, Sandy Englehart, Sherry and Ben Gilmore, Helen Sironen, Ramona Avila, Sam Reguindin, Ann Hitt, Lupe Trujillo, Nancy and Thedy Ho, the Sousa family and the Luna family for helping us. Saturday was a powerful example of what we can do as a whole community to support our students. Thank you, thank you, thank you!
There are still many things that still need to be done. Parents can stop by during the day to do these or take them on as a project. Please contact Ms. Pinelli if you can help. - Move furniture between classrooms (on Friday, August 9)
- Set up teacher mailboxes and office supplies
- Set up front office bulletin board
- Set up drinking water delivery service for faculty
- Many more tasks...
