Message from the Directors
Dear Rainier Families,
We are excited about the new Rainier Campus, located in the portable buildings on the Mt. Pleasant High School campus (entrance off Marten Ave). We need your help getting the school ready for the start of the year.
Saturday, July 20th is a Parent Facility Work Day! But don't leave the kids at home-- everyone can help! Remember that your kids can also contribute to your volunteer hours. The goal of this event is to make the campus a desirable place for kids and adults alike. Please help us give Rainier's new campus a serious face lift starting at 8:00am. We are in need of the following donations:
Saturday, August 3rd will be the second Parent Facility Work Day. The focus of this day will be more on the internal aspect of our campus. We want to make the classrooms inviting and comfortable so we will be hanging bulletin boards, organizing furniture and supplies, and much more. We are in need of the following donations:
Please bring any tools with you that you think might help, such as cleaning supplies, gardening tools, construction tools, etc. We need everyone's help!
Respectfully,
Pam Lamcke, Principal
Lia Pinelli, Assistant Director

Math Summer Tutoring Sessions
For returning students who want or need to make progress in math this summer, members of the Summit San Jose math department have decided to make themselves available EVERY WEDNESDAY of the summer from 10am to noon in Room 18 on Tahoma's campus. At these sessions, students will be able to receive tutoring from teachers and/or take assessments. Since this opportunity is only once a week, students who are looking to gain ground in math are expected to be working independently in addition to coming to the Wednesday sessions. Our playlists, available at activate.illuminateed.com, are the best resource for students to work independently.
The remaining sessions will be held: July 24, July 31 and August 7.
While Summit San Jose wishes it could offer the math program to our new students, unfortunately we cannot due to the ratio of returning students to teachers in the program. New students will be able to take math pre-assessments after classes start in August.
