Final Details for Rainier's Annual Camping Trip, September 5-6, 2013

Rainier's Annual Camping Trip is this coming Thursday and Friday! Permission slips were due on August 21st. This trip is mandatory for all students. We'll be staying at Cutter Scout Reservation, 2500 China Grade Road, Boulder Creek, CA 95006.

Drivers and Chaperones:

This important trip cannot happen without the support of parent volunteers. We still need 60 more seats to transport all our students. If you can help by driving students to and/or from camp please sign up here: http://tinyurl.com/RainierCamp2013-info

Meeting for Drivers: Tuesday, Sept 3rd at 7pm in Room #2011, Rainier campus:

Drivers will receive instructions, maps, and other details. If you haven't turned in the required driver/chaperone documents, you can turn them in at the meeting.

If you are unable to attend this meeting, camp coordinators will be on campus Tuesday and Wednesday (Sept 3rd and 4th) from 11am to 4 pm to accept paperwork.

Transportation details:

Departure from Summit Rainier on Thursday, 9/5, 8:15am

If you are not driving to the campsite, please drop your student off at the curb in front of the Rainier entrance on Marten Ave.

Camping trip drivers should arrive at 8:15am. Please park in Mt Pleasant's north parking lot and walk over to Summit Rainier. The north parking lot can be accessed by turning onto Rocky Mountain Drive from White, turn right on Mt. Blanc Way, pass through the gates onto the Mt Pleasant HS campus and then turn left before the baseball diamonds. (See campus map below.)

All students must meet their mentor in class to confirm attendance and their ride assignment to camp. Drivers should also report with their student to the mentor classroom. Once drivers and passengers are checked in, seating assignments will be handed out and drivers can leave with their passengers to drive to camp. (Directions to campsite. Do not follow your GPS, it will not send you to the correct campground).

Departure from campsite on Friday, 9/6, 11:30am

Drivers should arrive at the campsite on Friday at 11:30am and meet in the assembly area to receive passengers. Be advised that the parking lot fills up quickly. Once you have a full car, you can return to Rainier.

Upon returning to the Rainier campus, drop off students and gear off at the curb on Marten. There will be adult supervision on campus who will wait until all students have been picked up by their parents.

Student packing:

Please pack lightly: space is limited in vehicles and students will transport their own gear around camp on foot.

Emergency Contact:

Every staff member is certified in CPR; some staff members have additional First-Aid training. Faculty will have emergency contact information for each student onsite. If you need to contact us, please call (408) 831-3104.
