More information will be on its way regarding the 1st July Changes

An RSMS Occupation List?

In our previous newsletter, we mentioned that there is no list of occupations you have to choose from for the Regional Sponsored Migration Scheme (RSMS) - Direct Entry stream, however this is going to change soon.

From 1 July 2015, a RSMS occupation list (for Direct Entry stream) will be in force, which means applicants for RSMS- Direct Entry Stream must be nominated an occupation from this list.

The government has released this blurb;

"The effect of this amendment is to provide for a new legislative instrument making power specifying which occupations are eligible to be nominated for the Direct Entry stream of the Subclass 187 (Regional Sponsored Migration Scheme) visa (Subclass 187
visa).

The purpose of this amendment is to ensure that the Minister has the flexibility to specify occupations that are eligible occupations for employer nomination for the Subclass 187 visa."

The RSMS occupation list has not been released yet. We will keep you updated on this matter.

New website for DIBP

Say goodbye to the IMMI website: www.immi.gov.au and welcome the new website for DIBP:

http://www.border.gov.au (from 1 July 2015).

New Invitation round in July

The first invitation round in the new programme year will happen on 6 July 2015. Good news for those waiting for an invitation for 189 visa that the number of invitations to be issued in the coming round will bounce back to over 2000.

See more details on the Department's website: http://www.immi.gov.au/Work/Pages/SkillSelect/SkillSelect.aspx

Online applications close 7pm tomorrow!

From 7pm tomorrow the online DIBP online application process will be offline until 7am Wednesday morning.

No doubt this is due to all the web site changes mentioned above.
Welcome!
