Greetings!

Saumya looks for a military career

The main purpose of our work at Project Mala is to help under privileged children in rural India to achieve their true potential through education.  It is, therefore, very rewarding for us, and our supporters, to see children become ambitious in trying for things that without a Mala education would not have been possible.

One such child is Saumya Raj who has spent six years in Project Mala Guria School where he achieved good grades - 92% overall and the only child with 100% in maths.  Saumya has applied to join the Sainik (military) College in Lucknow (see link military college).  The problem is that the cost is 52 a month. which is more than twice his father's income.  We want to encourage him, but it is outside our normal areas of activity.

Does anyone know of a person with a military connection who might be interested in funding Saumya's course?
