We are delighted to inaugurate our new news brief, which you will receive directly as an email. The memo will highlight member and society events, publications and other interesting news. Keep informed with brief listings here, and if you want more information, simply click on the website provided for each announcement. We hope you find this new format informative and convenient to use. We think we can let you know more quickly what is going on in each of our CIPS societies.

A New Freudian Synthesis: Clinical Process in the Next Generation

"This landmark volume of illuminating papers by an outstanding group of psychoanalysts demonstrates the innovative ways in which modern Freudian analysts have synthesized and adapted not only Freud's fundamental contributions, but also those of creative analysts from a number of traditions, to develop new and therapeutically effective treatment approaches."

--Theodore J. Jacobs, MD, New York Psychoanalytic Society and Institute and The Psychoanalytic Association of New York

IPA Elections

The next IPA election for executive officers will take place February 28.  Watch your email box carefully for the email ballot from the IPA general office.

The two contenders for president are Stefano Bolognini and Jorge Canestri.  Please view their statements, and their vice-presidential running mates; statements, on the IPA website:  www.ipa.org.uk

You can also register for the 47th IPA Congress in Mexico City:  Sexuality, Dreams, and the Unconscious.  You are able to register now, and plan to see some of the beautiful and exciting sites in and around Mexico City as well.  It should prove to be a valuable professional and personal experience.
