Chalk Walk

Apr. 26-27 - Chalk Walk festival in the Northeast. A unique opportunity for youth and families to work alongside our neighbors in the Northeast. Saturday and Sunday, 9:00 a.m.-5:00 p.m. at the Kansas City Museum. Sign up here.

Thurs., Apr. 17 - Pastors' Class First Communion at the Maundy Thursday service, 7:00 p.m. 

 

Sun., Apr. 20 - Easter Sunday! 

  • Complimentary Easter breakfast from 7:30-9:30 a.m., Social Hall
  • Sunday School will NOT meet. Please join us in worship at 8:00, 9:30, or 11:00 a.m.
  • Youth Group will not meet on Easter.
Apr. 24 - 6:30 p.m., Benefit performance for MaKenna Lockhart - Our own MaKenna Lockhart won the regional Shakespeare Competition and will be traveling to New York in May to compete nationally.  This is a BIG deal!  Please join her for a benefit performance at Paseo High School, 4747 Flora Avenue.

Christian Community Camp August 2-9 SIGN UP NOW!


Each summer, families and individuals from the church gather for a glorious week in the Rocky Mountains. We call it "Christian Community Camp" because the week allows folks to build friendships with fellow church members of all ages while growing in faith in the midst of God's creation. We stay in two beautiful lodges (16 bedrooms and eight bedrooms) at the YMCA of the Rockies near Estes Park. Home cooked meals are prepared by generous volunteers from our church. Days are free to hike, ride horses, fish, boat, craft or read a book on the wraparound porch. In the evenings the group gathers for devotions and activities such as hayrides and nature programs.

Sun., May 4 - Senior Brunch for seniors, families, and their faith mentors. Save the date for Senior Brunch at 12:15 p.m. in the Youth Center. Seniors will be recognized in the 11:00 a.m. worship service as well. Please RSVP to Jason Ashley or call 816-333-4917 ext. 223.

 

June 22-26 - Middle School Mission Trip

  • Where: Houston, TX
  • What: Urban Service Projects, Houston Aquarium
  • Cost: $400 ($100 deposit is due Apr. 30 and remainder is due June 1). Scholarships are available based on need.
July 13-19 - High School Mission Trip
  • Where: Chicago, IL
  • What: Urban Youth Mission, Second City
  • Cost: $500 ($100 deposit is due Apr. 30 and remainder is due June 1). Scholarships are available based on need.

  • July 27-31. Volunteer hours available for youth. Let Hayley know if you'd like to help.
Volunteers Needed for Sunday Night Suppers

There are still opportunities to bring dinner in May. Please sign up here to bring a Sunday Night Snack Supper! Don't want to prepare a meal, but are willing to sponsor one? Cost is $75 per meal. Sign up for a slot and write SPONSOR in your comment.

Interviews were held this week for the Director of Children's Ministries and Director of Youth Ministries. We are excited about the outstanding pool of applicants and hope to finalize the process within the next two weeks. If you have any questions, please contact Monica Lewis.

June 6 - 8 - Children and Youth Ministries Mission and Vision Retreat - Ministry Architects will be back on our campus to lead us through a process that will determine our mission and vision.

Chi Rho (6th-8th) and CYF (9th-12th) gather for refreshments and announcements in the Youth Center (Rm. 205).  After opening, Chi Rho moves to Room 202 for a lesson.

  

Fellowship Singers

Fellowship Singers  rehearse from 9:45- 10:15 a.m. Sunday mornings. All youth (6th-12th grade) are invited and encouraged to participate.
