Chi Rho and CYF Youth, Parents and Sponsors! Here's what's going on for 6th-12th graders at Country Club Christian Church.
Happily Forever After

6th Annual Spring Musical, Sun., Mar. 9, 12:15 p.m.
Join us as the Children's and Youth Choirs present the musical, "Happily Forever After (A Musical for Kids about the Kingdom of God)." This story, featuring knights, castles, princesses and dragons, is not just an excuse to brandish swords and wear tiaras. It's a captivating and gospel-rich musical that tells the story of Princess Pride, Sir Brags-a-lot, and their curious band on an amazing trek in a faraway land. More than 30 children and youth singers and actors have been working very hard to put on a great show. Let's pack the Social Hall for this fun performance. Lunch will be available for audience at $5 per person to enjoy during the show.

This Week

 

Fri., Feb. 21 - High School Lock-in. Meet in Youth Center at 7:30 p.m. Plan to stay after on Saturday morning for the set-making workshop in the Social Hall.  

 

Sat., Feb. 22 - Set-Making Workshop, 9:30 a.m.-12:30 p.m., Social Hall. All children, youth and families are invited to help us create the set for this year's Children's and Youth Musical. Come when you can and stay as long as you like! We will be working with local artist Paige Ahlenius to create the set for "Happily Forever After." Please wear paint clothes from head to toe, including socks you don't mind getting paint on. You do not have to sing in the musical to participate. All are welcome for this fun day of creativity! 

 

Sun., Feb. 23  

  • Musical Rehearsal. 11:00 a.m.-noon, Choir Room. 
  • Youth Group - Share Your Story. Trials and Tribulations through Music. Chris Howard will be here to share his love of music in an engaging and thought provoking discussion. Get to know another member of our church family and listen to some tunes! Dinner 5:30-6:00 p.m. and Youth Group 6:00-7:30 p.m.

 

Sat., Mar. 1

  • Musical Practice, 9:00-11:00 a.m., Social Hall. 
  • Costume Making for Musical, 9:00-11:00 a.m., Social Hall.

  • Musical Practice, 11:00 a.m., choir room. 
  • Fireside Chat.  12:15-1:00 p.m., Youth Center. As we reIMAGINE our Youth and Children's Ministry, we want to hear from you!  Join us to talk with other youth and children's families and staff about what we are doing well and what we can improve.  
  • Pastors' Class Lunch and second meeting with faith mentors. 12:15 p.m., Solarium (Rm. 309). Sit with your menton at the 11:00 a.m. service. Then join us for lunch and discussion in the Solarium. 

Sat., Mar. 8   

  • Dress Rehearsal for Youth and Children's Musical. 9:00-11:00 a.m., Social Hall.   
  • Costume Making for Musical, 9:00-11:00 a.m., Social Hall.
 
And Beyond

 

Sun., Mar. 9  

  • Final Rehearsal for Musical, 11:00 a.m. Run through show, then eat lunch (provided) before performance. 
  • Youth and Children's Musical. 12:15 p.m., Social Hall. Lunch will be available for audience to enjoy during the show for $5 per person.

 

Mar. 10 - Family Night at Micah Ministry. All youth grades 6 through 12 and their families are invited to meet at Independence Boulevard Christian Church at 5:00 p.m. to serve families in need.   

 

Apr. 6 - Easter Egg Hunt. Noon, George Hamilton Combs Chapel lawn. Middle school and high school volunteers are needed to help setup our very first Easter Egg Hunt. Save the date!

Element Families

Chi Rho (6th-8th) and CYF (9th-12th) gather for refreshments and announcements in the Youth Center (Rm. 205).  After opening, Chi Rho moves to Room 202 for a lesson.

  

Fellowship Singers

Fellowship Singers  rehearse from 9:45- 10:15 a.m. Sunday mornings. All youth (6th-12th grade) are invited and encouraged to participate.
