This Week

 

Feb. 2 - Musical Rehearsal. 11:00 a.m. in choir room.

 

Feb. 2 - Super Bowl Party! Don't have plans for Super Bowl Sunday? Join us at the Salvation Army Children's Shelter for a Super Bowl Party. We will be playing games (with prizes) related to the Super Bowl, watching the game and eating snacks with our friends there. Please email Hayley by Friday, Jan. 31, to let her know you're coming so we have enough food! Meet here at 5:30 p.m. and we'll be back by 7:30 p.m. for pickup.    

 

Next Week

 

Feb. 9 - Person of the Year. Rev. Monica Lewis will be here to hang out, play games, and talk with us about the Person of the Year, Pope Francis. He has received a lot of recognition and ruffled some feathers. What can we learn from his example as we start 2014? Dinner at 5:30 p.m. and Youth Group from 6:00-7:30 p.m.  

 

Feb. 10 - Family Night at Micah Ministry.  All youth and their families are invited to meet at Independence Boulevard Christian Church at 5:00 p.m. to serve families in need.


Assessment of Children and Youth Ministry Listening Groups. The groups will meet Feb. 15-18. The voices of our youth are very important to this process. Encourage your children to sign up for a listening group. We really want to know what youth want this ministry to be! Sign up here.

And Beyond

 

High School Lock-in, Feb. 21-22

All 9th-12th graders are invited for a night of fun, fellowship and food. The night will include an hour and a half at PowerPlay, a supermarket sweep, online worship planning, movies and more. Meet at the church at 7:30 p.m. We will head out early Saturday morning to Sosa's Diner for breakfast. We will return to the church for pickup at 9:00 a.m. The

attached permission slip and payment must be received by Feb. 16 to participate. Cost is $18 per person but bring a friend for free. Someone will be in the parlor between services to collect money and permission slips on Feb. 9 and 16. Check or credit card only. 

 

Feb. 23 - Share Your Story. Trials and Tribulations through Music. Chris Howard will be here to share his love of music in an engaging and thought provoking discussion. Get to know another member of our church family and listen to some tunes! Dinner 5:30-6:00 p.m. and Youth Group 6:00-7:30 p.m.

 

 
Youth and Children's Musical
Let us know your intent to participate in this year's Children's and Youth Musical by emailing Michael Patch. Parts are available for all children and youth interested in participating.

Important Dates:
Practices:  Feb. 2, 9, 16, 23, 11:00 a.m.; Mar. 1, 9:00-11:00 a.m., Mar. 2, 11:00 a.m.,
Dress rehearsal: Mar. 8, 9:00-11:00 a.m.,
Final rehearsal/lunch: Mar. 9, 11:00 a.m.

 

 

VOLUNTEER SERVICE OPPORTUNITIES: Want to be involved but not perform. We need helpers, costume coordinator, set builders, and many more. Watch for more information coming soon.

Chi Rho (6th-8th) and CYF (9th-12th) gather for refreshments and announcements in the Youth Center (Rm. 205).  After opening, Chi Rho moves to Room 202 for a lesson.

  

Fellowship Singers

Fellowship Singers  rehearse from 9:45- 10:15 a.m. Sunday mornings. All youth (6th-12th grade) are invited and encouraged to participate.
