Welcome Rev. Monica Lewis!
Sun., Oct. 13 - 5:30-6:00 p.m., Social Hall

 

Monica Lewis All youth and their parents are invited to come to a welcome dinner for Monica, the new Minister to Children, Youth and Families. Please RSVP to Mary Margaret so we have enough food.

From 6:00-7:30 p.m., we will have regular Youth Group and Monica will share her story of faith and get acquainted with the youth.

Sept. 27 - Chi Rho Lock-in. 7:15 p.m. until 9:00 a.m. No youth group on Sept. 29. 

Spring Break Mission Trip Information Meeting. Noon, Sun., Sept. 29, Youth Center
All youth in grades 10-12 for the 2013-2014 school year who are interested in participating in a mission trip to Nicaragua over spring break 2014 are invited and encouraged to attend an informational meeting on Sun., Sept. 29, in the Youth Center.  The trip will be  Mar. 16-22, 2014.

Sept. 29 - CYF Only Youth Group: 5:30-7:30 p.m. It's our turn to let out our inner Picasso! CYF will have a chance to create a mural, then join Hayley for an ice cream outing. We'll be back by 7:30 p.m.

Oct. 6
  • Youth Council - Noon, Youth Center. 
  • CYF and Chi Rho Youth Group. 4:30-6:30 (time change!) for Youth Group night of Service. We will meet at church at 4:30 to go to Sheffield House to cookout for the residents and play games with them. We will return for pick up at 6:30 p.m. We will eat a snack on the road to Sheffield House.

Oct. 13 - 

  • 5:30-6:00 Reception for Monica for youth and families. RSVP to Mary Margaret House so we have enough food.
  • 6:00-7:30 p.m. Youth Group. Monica will be sharing her faith journey and lead youth in discussion.

 

Worlds of Fun - Oct. 20. Our annual Worlds of Fun outing. Mark your calendars and get ready for fun!

 

Halloween Party - Oct. 27. We will join Club Kids on Sun., Oct. 27, for a Halloween Party. Costumes are encouraged and parents are invited. 5:30-7:30 p.m. 

 

CYF Retreat is tentatively scheduled for Friday, November 15. Keep checking for more information!

Grace at Work Opportunities

Grace at Work 2013 You still have time to sign up to help at Grace at Work, a fun-filled half-day volunteer opportunity on Sat., Oct. 5. Family opportunities include Indian Mound Neighborhood Community Garden, Shepherd's Center, Harvesters Community Food Network, Newhouse, and Restart. Sign up to serve in the way that fits you best by stopping in the parlor on Sunday or click here to sign up online.  New this year: Gather at the church from 8:00-8:30 a.m. for a complimentary hot breakfast and then depart with your work crew to serve at one of the agencies in our community.

 

Acolyte Schedule
A letter was sent home with an acolytes schedule and information. Please put the date on your calendar and plan to stay for the beginning of the 11:00 service. Thank you for serving to bring light into the Sanctuary.

Communion Element Families Needed
Families of the scheduled acolyte are invited to serve as the Element Family on your child
s scheduled date. If you are unable to serve on that date, please email Alexis or call her at 816-333-4917.

Chi Rho (6th-8th) and CYF (9th-12th) gather for refreshments and announcements in the Youth Center (Rm. 205).  After opening, CYF moves to Room 202 for a lesson.

  

Fellowship Singers

Fellowship Singers  rehearse from 9:45- 10:15 a.m. Sunday mornings. All youth (6th-12th grade) are invited and encouraged to participate.
