Chi Rho and CYF Youth, Parents and Sponsors! Here's what's going on for 6th-12th graders at Country Club Christian Church.
Welcome Hayley Holt
New Interim Youth Director Please welcome Hayley Holt Hayley Holt who will serve as Interim Youth Director beginning Aug. 1.  Hayley will work with the Chi Rho and CYF youth groups each Sunday evening and with the Youth Sunday School classes.  You may already know her because she grew up in this congregation and has been active here as a young adult.  She worked at the church in the summer of 2005 as an intern.  Most recently Hayley worked as the Arts Integration Teacher at Academy for Integrated Arts,and prior to that served with Teach For America in Charlotte, North Carolina.  You may email her at hayleyh@cccckc.org.
 
Reception for Justin
Sunday, July 28
We will hold a celebration of Rev. Justin Zeigler's ministry at a farewell reception on Sun., July 28, in the Parlor after the 11:00 a.m. worship service. Please plan to come that day as we wish Justin well.

July 28 Family BBQ.
Come to the church for games and food. The whole family is invited as we say "See ya later" to Justin. Bring a side dish to share. 5:30-7:30 p.m., Social Hall. 
 
And Beyond
August 25 - Hunger Games II and BBQ. All youth and their families are invited to play Hunger Games and have some BBQ. 5:30-7:30 p.m., Social Hall.

 

Attention: We Need to Provide a Meal

Starting on August 18, we will provide a meal at the beginning of Youth Group/Club Kids.  We need people to sign up for the dates below.  Your responsibility will be to have a meal in the Social Hall for 20-30 people.  It's a great way to serve and get to know some of the young people in the congregation.  Please contact Justin ASAP if you are willing/able to help.

July Collection Connection

The Collection Connection for July is collecting school supplies for the students at Garfield Elementary School.  Garfield is located in the Northeast, just a few blocks from Independence Boulevard Christian Church.  The families of many of the students don't have resources to provide school supplies for their children.  You can help by donating any of the following items or funds to purchase the following items: glue sticks, 8 oz bottles of washable glue, scissors, large pink erasers, No. 2 pencils, crayons-24 count, highlighters, rulers with inches and metrics, pocket folders, loose leaf wide-ruled paper, wide-rule spiral notebooks, composition notebooks (journals), boxes of colored pencils, red checking pens, blue or black ballpoint pens, 3-ring binders.

Take your donations to the parlor any Sunday this month.  Send cash (or check) donations to the church office marked "Garfield School Supplies."

Chi Rho (6th-8th) and CYF (9th-12th) gather for refreshments and announcements in the Youth Center (Rm. 205).  After opening, Chi Rho moves to Room 202 for a lesson.
