"What we begin, others who come after will complete. The good is like the building of cathedrals. Only through faith can those who lay foundation stones hear bells ringing in unraised steeples."

Stewardship Prayer
God of our history; God of our challenging present; God of our hopeful future: you have trusted us with all we have. In this time of thoughtful reflection, direct us as faithful stewards, to provide a place where your word is heard and love and grace abound. You have trusted us not to hide, hoard, or waste our gifts but to share them. Open the hearts of us who have been called to this sacred place to do your work. Give our gifts meaning by trusting us to give them away. Give our gifts value not through accumulation, but through their use. Amen.

Greetings!

As we move into the final weeks of our 2013 Stewardship Campaign, we invite you to take a moment to reflect on the George Hamilton Combs quote we've used as this year's campaign theme.  What does it mean to you? Consider how those prophetic words from decades ago can shape your pledge to Country Club Christian Church today, in 2013.

What you begin today, others who come after you will complete. But you are laying a foundation for everyone who sets foot in our doors for spiritual nourishment, everyone who is touched by our outreach dollars and hands of service... You are laying a foundation for infants dedicated and sixth graders baptized... You are laying a foundation for future generations. Your faith in this community of worship, your time spent in service, your talent shared with others, and your treasure given generously fulfill the call of Jesus, who taught us to love God and love neighbor above all else.

Welcome New Members

Did you know...

  • That this past Sunday, 14 individuals became members of our church community?
  • That those 14 new members range in age from 5 to 86 years old?
  • That those new members have joined the Chancel Choir, have participated in Grace At Work, will be traveling with the church to Greece in the fall and are continuing to get involved in Sunday school classes and small groups?
  • That all of those new members have turned in a pledge card in support of our current stewardship campaign?

We joyfully welcome these new generations to the Country Club Christian Church family.

Meet the Zimmermans

Jeff and Jan Zimmerman are the chairs of the Worship Council. Join us in worship on Sunday to hear why stewardship is important to them.

What began as an invitation from  friends in 1938, results in five generations of church members.  Jan Zimmerman's grandparents, Ben and Emma Taylor, after being invited by their friends Ralph and Charlotte Jones, became members.  Jan's father Jim Rawlings joined when he married Jet.  Jan's husband, Jeff joined when he married Jan.  Jeff and Jan have two children, Heidi and Jonathan, who are members.  Now, 75 years later there are grandchildren growing up in the church, Ben and Emma's great-great grandchildren.

Your pledge helps assure that future generations will be worshiping at Country Club Christian Church.
